The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce that they have added 2006 born Forward McCarthy Richardson for the 2024-2025 season.
Richardson is 18 years old, and is from New Westminster. The 6’1 180 pound forward shoots left and played last season for Rink Hockey Academy in Kelowna in the Canadian Sports School Hockey League. In 26 games played he scored 20 goals and added 26 assists for 46 points. In the 2022-2023 season, he played seven regular season and playoff games in the BCHL as an affiliate player of the Langley Rivermen.
On the addition of Richardson, Bulldogs Head Coach and General Manager Joe Martin stated: “McCarthy had a great season for the Rink Academy in Kelowna last year. He’s a well rounded player, who is determined to make an impact.”
Richardson commented: ”I’m thrilled to be joining the Bulldogs this season. Port Alberni is an awesome hockey town with a great program and great coaches. I cant wait for the opportunity to contribute to such a respected team and play in the Dawg Pound every night in front of it’s great fans.
McCarthy will join his teammates in #hockeyvalley in advance of the season opening Golf Tournament on August 30th at the Alberni Golf Club
