With his one goal, one assist effort against the Surrey Eagles back on November 17th, Nicholas Beneteau became the 21st player in Bulldogs history to hit 100 points in his BCHL career.
Entering action this weekend Beneteau has posted 39 goals and 65 assists, good for 104 points and counting.
The all-time leading scorer is Port Alberni’s own Tyler Ruel who put out 247 points between 2002-2007. While Beneteau’s career numbers will fall short of Ruel’s, he has a chance to cement his legacy as one of the top producers in Bulldogs franchise history.
With 29 points under his belt this season, Beneteau is on pace to improve on his totals from last season when he won the Bulldogs MVP award at the year-end awards night.
Through his first 22 games this season, Beneteau is on pace for a 70 point season. Should he continue that level of production, Beneteau is on-pace to end his Bulldogs career inside the top 10 of all-time scoring and a good shot of cracking the top-5. He’s also on pace to have one of the best offensive seasons since the MacMillan brothers back in 2009-2010.
Obviously lots can happen between now and the end of the regular season. Regardless of the final outcome, achieving 100 points in a Bulldogs uniform is a special milestone worth recognition.
Up next on the list for Beneteau is Mike Meech who finished with 109 points between 99-01 and Jackson Doucet who put up 111 points between 2017-2020.
