The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have signed 03 Forward Braxton Buckberger and 06 Defenceman Ronan Buckberger from Saskatoon Saskatchewan. The pair will join the Bulldogs immediately.
Braxton posted 15 goals and and 30 assists for 45 points in 41 games with Nipawin in the SJHL. Braxton will bring leadership and experience to the Bulldogs lineup as his resume boasts nearly 140 games of junior experience and Braxton was an alternate captain with the Hawks.
Ronan is in his rookie junior season and posted 8 goals and 25 points on the back end for Nipawin. Ronan is committed to play NCAA hockey at the Ohio State University, and he also represented Team Canada West at the World Jr A Challenge.
To make room for the brothers, the Bulldogs sent Jimmy Lyver to the Merritt Centennials yesterday in exchange for future considerations. Lyver appeared in 21 games for the Bulldogs in his rookie campaign and posted 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points.
