The Alberni Valley Bulldogs (4-3-0-0) will look to turn the page after a 2-0 setback at home to the Victoria Grizzlies on Friday night when they host the Cowichan Valley Capitals at 7pm. Tonight’s game is presented by Lots Group.
Outside of another great effort from Bulldogs starter Callum Tung, there wasn’t much to be excited about. The offence struggled to generate much of anything on a night that saw the power play go 0 for 4 and managed just 3 shots in the 2nd period. Tung earned 3rd star honours on the night thanks to his 35 save performance. All told, the Grizzlies outshot the Bulldogs 37-25 on the night.
Tonight the Bulldogs face the Cowichan Valley Capitals who are coming of a home loss of their own to the Langley Rivermen last night. Cowichan has a single win in 7 contests (1-5-1-0), but that win came against the Bulldogs. While the results in the win column haven’t shown up just yet for the Capitals, they are a much improved club and the Bulldogs know that any team led by veteran bench boss Mike Vandekamp will be ready to play.
