The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have traded 02 born goaltender Hayden Dunford to the Merritt Centennials in exchange for future considerations.
The Bulldogs acquired Dunford last season from the Caledonia Corvairs of the GOJHL in Ontario. In 8 games with the Bulldogs, Dunford went 4-3-0 with a 2.48 GAA and a .892 save percentage.
With the development of Port Alberni Bombers goaltender Callum Tung, and the return of club MVP Hobie Hedquist, the move was about getting Dunford an opportunity to play quality minutes in his 20 year old season, and give him the opportunity to earn a NCAA scholarship in his final season of junior eligibility.
