The Bulldogs won their second straight game to open the preseason Saturday afternoon in Powell River, 4-0 over the Kings.
Grayson Badger opened the scoring, with assists to Luke Melnik and Brady McIsaac. The same trio connected on the power play to double the lead, with McIsaac converting a Melnik pass, with Badger also in on the play for a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
After a scoreless second, the Bulldogs got further insurance when Zeke Nicholson scored to make it 3-0 with under 10 to play in the third, with assists to Anthony Ip and Jesse Allecia. The Bulldogs made it 4-0 on the power play 2:01 later, with Mac Richardson scoring his second of the presesaon on an Antoine Gauthier set up to complete the scoring.
Shots were 29-27 Bulldogs, with Ryder Shea earning 1st star honours with the win and the shut out in net while Elliott Pratt took the loss. The Bulldogs went 2 for 5 on the power play, while the Kings went 0 for 2.
The Bulldogs next see action Wednesday night in Nanaimo when they face the Clippers. They conclude their preseason schedule Friday night when they host the Cowichan Valley Capitals at the Dawg Pound.
