The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce the commitment of 2006 born Forward Dryden Kuramoto to the NCAA Division I program at Lindenwood University under Head Coach Bill Muckalt.
The Bulldogs acquired Kuramoto in September after a career year last season where he scored 8 goals and added 24 assists good for 32 points in 51 games played. He has played 103 regular season and playoff games in the British Columbia Hockey League, scoring 11 times while adding 33 assists good for 44 points.
At the time of the acquisition Bulldogs Head Coach and GM Joe Martin commented: “Dryden was on the verge of a breakout season last year, and we believe playing with our group that he can attain this. He can play all three forward positions and has the potential to be an impact player on special teams”
Kuramoto was injured off-ice prior to the season opener and has yet to play this regular season, but was outstanding in two preseason contests in a Bulldog sweater.
Martin commented on his recent commitment and his injury status: “We’re excited that Dryden has secured an opportunity to play NCAA Hockey in the future. It’s unfortunate he’s faced adversity and hasn’t been able to play this season, and we can’t wait to have him in our line up”
Kuramoto commented: “I’m very excited at opportunity I’ve earned to further my education while playing the game I love at a high level”
On his return to the Bulldog lineup, he continued: “I’m doing everything possible to rehabilitate my injury as efficiently as possible. I have been itching to rejoin the team, and hope to make a meaningful impact to it upon my return”
